The European Public Affairs (EPA) Office monitors EU policy & law, including a variety of strategic
advocacy activities towards the EU institutions.The role of “Competition, Consumer & Intellectual Property Policy Manager” sits within the “Digital” Part
of the “EU Policy” Group and will be responsible for all competition; consumer & IP driven EU initiatives,
including in relation to the impact of EU competition (ex-ante & ex-post); consumer protection &
IP policy on the: design; sale and maintainence of Samsung Electronics (SE) products and services.
EPA’s Digital Part is currently involved in monitoring and shaping various ongoing EU policy initiatives related to:
privacy; security; safety; media; AI; competition in relation to the EU’s digital economy agenda. While your role
will be focused on the EU’s non-competition; consumer & IP related initiatives, you will be expected to remain
flexible to assist the Digital Team in other areas within their remit as necesarry.
Beyond the Digital Part, EPA’s EU Policy Group also monitors and shapes various ongoing EU initiatives related to:
sustainability & industrial policy. You will be expected to cooperate with these teams as necesarry in relation to your:
competition; consumer & IP focus.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- - Monitor & sense future EU policies & laws that impact SE’s products & services;
- - Deliver clear information on such EU developments to appropriate HQ teams including Global Public Affairs (GPA) team on a regular basis;
- - Aid the development of SE’s positions on EU policy;
- - Advocate SE’s positions towards key EU policy makers and trade associations;
- - Explain finalised laws to HQ, GPA, legal & compliance teams to ensure effective handover for company preparation
